Question about PBX command "change code-calling-ids", what exactly does it do? We are actually trying to implement a security code with overhead paging. For example, at the moment our TAC (trunk access code) for loudspeaker paging is 85 (TAC 85). Is there a way to implement a security code? Basically we have everybody with the proper COR paging randomly throughout the organization. We want to cut down on this. Too much overhead paging is a problem for us. Big time! Was wondering about this "change code-calling-ids" command but not sure if it is relevant or not. Please advise. Bottomline we want some type of security code in the beginning or at the end of the loudspeaker paging TAC of 85. Again, please advise.

I dom't know about code-calling-ids. Can you set up a vector where the user has to enter a code then route to the TAC?

CodeCalling is not going to help you with this issue, that was used in old department store/factory type environments, you would hear the "boing, boing, boing" tones. The vector security sounds like a good idea above.. just change the feature access code to something that no one knows, and have a vector prompt you for the password, which you could change daily/weekly... thenb once they enter the correct PW, issue the paging command from the vector.. give it a shot.

Why couldn't you change the COR for the trunk group to only allow certain users to access the group? lg

Thanks to DonBott, glg01, & Mitch672! Thanks for all your suggestions. (For Mitch672) I forgot to mention my organization is a retail department store and it's run like an old mom & pop department store (on a larger scale). Thanks again guys! Will take heed to your suggestions.
