answering another extension

Hello, I have a Merlin Magix system and am trying to figure out how to answer a ringing extension from another phone. My main operator extension is set up to ring 8 phones that are part of a primary coverage group. The catch is that the phone that wants to answer the operator can't be part of the coverage group.

Can that extension use a key command on the phone to pick up any other known ringing extensions?

You can pickup another extension by hitting feature (or #) 9 then dialing the extension number.

How we do it where I work is all phones have a pickup button making it easier for a user. To program the button hit feature 0 0 press the button you wish to make a pickup button and press *9 to make a general pickup button.

The user will then press this button and dial the extension they want to pickup.

If you want to make the button just pickup a specific extension instead use *9 + extension number.
