Having an issue with the answer DN's on a new 450. They are all programmed correctly but they do not display on the set they are programmed on when the real set goes off hook.

Anybody else have this problem? It's not working on any set here and there are around 100 of them.

Yes, all patches are in!

I heard the newer software did both Answer DN and BLF. Anyone know for sure?

I agree...Cardinals!

I can confirm i am worng and you are right!!!!

I missed this feature somehow....

What is the Answer/DSS key?
In the past, it took one button to have an
Answer DN appearance to answer a call
placed to a station, and a second button to
have a DSS (Direct Station Selection) button
to call an internal station. The new Answer/
DSS key allows a user to have both functions
on one button. When the key is idle, pressing
it acts as a DSS button to call a station.
When it is ringing, pressing it acts as an
Answer DN button. This conserves buttons
on the user’s set and simplifies call handling.

Thanks Curly and Dewey. I thought that was the case too. It works just as you described above however, if it were a DSS (in the old days), it would light up when the user was on their phone. It doesn't do that right now. Everything else works ok and that indicator is precisely want they want so I've asked then to reprogram them all as DSS keys and see if that works for them. In the mean time, it would be nice to know for sure.

Either way. If they are connected to a call, nothing displays on the set. Boss has a 7316e and the assistant has a 7310 Rel 19D. If I call the boss's set, the assistant's set rings and flashes just as you would expect but when the boss answers, the LED goes out. If the boss makes an outgoing call, nothing displays on the assistant's set.

Not quite the step forward they allege. Thanks for the description Curly.

From experience on the BCM 400 the btn can act as a DSS key in that u can press it to call the programmed DN but as u've found out it doesn't act as a BLF. Nortel made it that way starting w/ 3.6 or 3.7. Before that u had a answer dn btn and a DSS btn
