I have this one PC on which I had to re-install Office XP and made a repair of Windows 2000, and now it just cannot connect to echange at all. I am able to use OWA but I cannot use any service from the server that include some kind of application connection. I cannot use terminal services either. I tried the 5 registry keys for RPC, but it didn't worked out. What could be causing this?/

please help?

System is a Dell Optiplex GX260 running Win2k SP2
Outlook 2002
SBS 2000

Thanks

Reg.

Hello!

I did all of what says in the KB Article, but still have the same problem. Everything semms OK, but still no connection. I can still log onto OWA. I really don't wanna go and format and reinstall everything again. Please help!!

Any other idea?

What is the exact error message?

You say you re-installed Windows 2000. Has the machine account been re-created in the domain?

Well, somethign happened that I had to do a fix re-install into Windows 2000. Then when I logged back into the domainm it created a new profile with a .DOMAIN extension in the profile folder, since the same user name profile was already there, and because if the repair re-installation it didn't remembered that one. So then I went back to add a new Exchange Account into outlook, and it came up: Could not log you on to your MS Exchange server, check to make sure you're using the correct username and domain name and that cables areconected, or something like that (i',m not in that PC now) so then I hit ok, and made it as if it will connect later on, but never ocnnected. So I left Account config in Outlook, but everytime I would start Oulook the same "Your Microsoft Exchange Server is Unavailable".

And that's what has been going on. Thanks anticipated!

Well, I;'m pretty sure it can be done. I have not tried yet, since I didn't wanted to loose the user's config, and since he has about 2GB in his profile, I was picky on making a copy of the folder. But I was able to rename the folder at any time and the system would accept it even when renaming as the user profile the system was using. YOu know, renamimng it with the new name assigned.

Thanks again!!
