Thanks for all the help so far. But, I'm having trouble adding a section. My book tells me to go to the Sorting and Grouping button on the toolbar. So I did that and choose to group by ascending, even though I'm not sure what that's gonna do. When I try to look at it in print view, a message box pops up and askes for the new setion's parameter value.

I have no idea what this is. Did I add the section correctly? What is the right way to add a section?

Open a form or report in Design view.
Do one or more of the following:
1.To add or remove report header and footer, click Report Header/Footer on the View menu.

To add or remove group header or footer on a report, do the following:
Click Sorting and Grouping on the toolbar.
In the Sorting and Grouping dialog box, click a row in the Field/Expression column.
To hide the group header section, in the lower portion of the dialog box, set the Group Header property to No.
To hide the group footer section, set the Group Footer property to No.

Did you select a field/expression as well as choosing a sort order?

Then at bottom of SORTING AND GROUPING dialog box there is an option to have group header and one for group footer. If you select yes to either or both of these it will add sections to your report.

This will sort your report by the field/expression you choose, and add the section to your report for grouping purposes.

hope that helps

Thanks for the help. When I go to the View menu, the Header / Footer option is already checked because I have one on there already. Is there a way to add another section, but not have it be a grouped one?
