Another problem with form field validations in FP2000....

I have form in FP2000 for customers to fill in. I had originally set up the form with validations on most of the fields and then added validations to the drop down fields. When I made that change, no matter what fields you filled out, a user would always get my message that not all forms were completed. In an effort to pin-point what field may be causing this I took the validation off of all the fields but now when a user enters info in all fields the error message still pops up. Shouldn't that have allowed a blank form to be submitted? Am I missing something here????

Hey emcc,

How about a URL for your form page and the exact message you get?

In addition, what happens when the form is submitted?

Do you get the email?

Does it go to file?

Without looking, all I can guess is that there is still some validation requirement somewhere.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal

This form is set up to come to us as an email but nothing comes through. This form is a part of a remake of an entire website. Right now its published but not available to anyone but us. I don't mind giving you the url but could I send it to you offline? If so, just let me know where I can send it to you.

Thanks!

Michael,

I saw that you tested my form and I did receive your information by email which is how it is supposed to work. What did you encounter on your end?

I did the test submits and narrowed it done to the single field still requiring validation. I repeatedly got the validation failure page until I filled out that field.

Didn't you get my email?

Below is my email reply:

Billing Contact Name is still requiring 3 characters. This is probably what is directing the user to the failure page.

Billing Contact Email or Telephone is requiring data but no minimum - so this would be ignored.

Personally, I have never used the validation page URL. I have seen a number of users have problems with this.

If you just validate and take out the URL for validation failure, then the user will simply get the pop up prompts.

This is my preferred method.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal
