ANOTHER NAM VOICEMAIL CHANNEL QUESTION

I HAVE 16 CHANNESL ON MY NAM, WITH CINPHONY CO-RESIDING

FIRST QUESTION:
IF 10 CALLS ARE BEEN ANSWER BY THE AUTOMATED ATTENDANT
AND 7 PEOPLE ARE CHECKING THERE VOICEMAIL AND ANOTHER 5 ARE
ON THE ACD AT THE SAME TIME, WILL THE 16 CHANNELS ASSIGNED TO THE NAM BE SUFFICIENT, OR WOULD I NEED 6 MORE CHANNESL TO BE ABLE TO DO HANDLE ALL THIS AT THE SAME TIME.

SECOND QUESTION:
AND IF THE AA DOES USE A CHANNEL TO PICK UP A CALL AND ROUTE THE CALL, THEN DOES THE CHANNEL BECOME AVAILABLE TO BE USED BY SOME ELSE AFTER THE CALL IS ROUTED.
 
well lets go a little further if you have a total of 16 channels are you talking about 16 voice 8 acd or 8 voice 8 acd because the vm and acd do not share channels then no you will only have 8 voice paths available for vm..as far as acd is concerned the voice channels are for recorded annoncements and since they all dont play at the same time for the q call then its posible to have more than 8 people in q and all hear the recorded msgs...if all ports are busy the will get blank air ...on the vm side you will get ring no answer untill ports free up

NAM channels assigned to voicemail are independant of Prelude/Cinphony ACD.
ACD channels are determined by HASP (parallel port dongle).
Voicemail channels are determined by keycode and hardware support.
ACD channels are only used during playback of ACD greetings.
Voicemail channels are used during any access to voicemail application for example pressing f985 will use a voicemail channel.

thanks for all your response,
now does the automated attendant use any of the channels that would other wise be use for voicemail, etc, the reason why iam asking this is because i am having problems were my automated attendant is not picking up sometimes, the lines just keeps ringing and ringing, and then it starts answering after a few minutes. So iam just wondering if Automated attendant is limited to the channels available in NAM, as far as anwering calls.
 
aa uses vm channels unless its

the aa in acd then it uses acd channels

again if the vm has x channels you have x paths into the vm meaning leaving vm msg, checking vm msg, and aa has x paths that they share... as i said in prior post you will get a ring no answer in vm channels are busy

If you have a network card in your nam you can use Norstar Voicemail Manager to print a port busy report.
