It seems many of us are having issues with forwarding lately. I have a MICS 7.0 w Call Pilot 100 3.0, and a somewhat complicated forwarding problem as well.
The short story- calls go to same VM greeting twice before one is prompted to leave a message.
Here's the whole story-
The customer wants all DIDs to go unanswered by VM,so that a live person answers the lines. But all direct calls to extensions are to forward to their extension's personal voicemail.
This worked fine until the main DID was made to ring (Ring only), added on two more of the DNs. A conflict occurred, as listed in manual (between DTE and CFNA's higher number of rings), where the calls now forwarded to the lowest DN port's voicemail.
I got around this problem by taking out the CFNA to VM on each DN, and let DRT transfer the lines to voicemail. Using the target number (line) for the DN,I set the CP100 to answer the line, created a personal greeting for each DN user in Greeting tables, and forwarded each line to internal extension by CCR tables (whew!). This works fine on the lowest port extension.
But,on the higher DN port, it forwards the call to the VM greeting after 4 rings, and then it rings 4 more times, and it goes to the VM greeting again. After the second VM greeting, one is allowed to leave a message. Currently, the only difference I see is that the one that works has a greeting set up in their VM box (besides their name), and the one that goes arond twice, has only the name set up in their VM box. Since the user was not here, I could not enter their VM bvox and add a personal greeting in their personal VM box. Besides, I don't see how that would make any difference (I will try this tomorrow, anyway, of course).
I re-did all work and matched it with the DN that works, but cannot find why the calls go to greeting twice. Does anyone have any suggestions?
