Another forensics tool 2

I was reading a Dark Reading blog on forensics and he mentioned an open source tool I hadn't heard of called CAINE (Computer Aided INvestigative Environment).

I haven't had time to completely "play" with this but it does have some very interesting tools. You can run the disk and access WinTaylor which has some very good tools of its own, including many from Systernals.

If you boot from this disk, you have access to a Linux based OS that has some good tools, too. If you've used Helix you might be familiar with this. Some knowledge of Linux/Unix may be needed to run all the tools here.

We used it in college. 1.5 is the latest version. its used as it is read only by default.
