Hello.

I created a simple tool for the division staff to submit their suggestions for improvement. It's a simple Issues list. One common theme in the feedback that I am getting is have users submit their suggestions anonymously.

Is there a way to do it? I know one can enable anonymous access for the entire site, but I would like to limit it only to this particular list. I do not want to have anybody access the site outside of the division, so the anonymous option should exist only for users who are in the User Information list.

If anybody can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

michael

Mike,
I'm not sure I understand.. If you are trying to allow only certain people within the organization access this list, then you need to:
1. Create a new site group and assign these individuals to
it.
2. Go the "modify settings and columns" for that list.
3. Open 'change permissions for this list"
4. Delete the users/site groups already present and then
add your new site group.

After exiting, only users who belong to that site group will be able to access this list.

Hope thats the answer you were looking for.

If you want their suggestion to be anonymous, you might be able to set it up as a survey as this has an option to keep the person that filled in the survey anonymous.

Thank you both for your reply.

Kriza, sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I have a list of users that I want to be able to access the site. I also want to give these users (and only these users) an opportunity to submit their suggestions anonymously.

Ouzojd, I have explored the option of Survey's however it doesn't provide the same functions the Issue list does (e.g. sending email to Assigned To person)or ability to thread existing records.

I guess, the only thing would be is try an create our own web part.

Thanks for you input.

You could just go into the view settings and remove the flied for the persons name on all the views. At least this way other would not be able to see who posted it.
