Hi Guys,

Somehow I inadvertently downloaded and installed a server application from the web. Every time I reboot my OS, it starts up and trys to communicate over the Internet. Fortunately, my firewall is up and stops it. I can kill the application in Task Manager Window. What I would like to do though is stop it from even starting up. Is there a registery setting I can modify?

Sonny.

Using Win98. No, it is not in my startup folder (that would be tooo easy:))

try Start/Run then type msconfig goto the startup tab
see if in there if so then un-check it and reboot

there's a run line in your system.ini file, and a registry entry as well. look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I wish you (programers) would finally solve the Windos98 SE
