has anyone encountered this problem? Announcements on the G700 is being cut and automatically routed into the next vector step when the incoming trunk/vdn is called especially during the beginning of the announcement. The system is running S8300 CM 3.1.2 with update patches and upgraded firmwares of the G700. It happens most of the time even peak & off-peak. But when dialing the announcement number directly it's working fine, only happens when the call is coming outside. The announements I am told are on a virtual board of the G700. When I do dial the announcment extension internally its hit or miss, usually 4 misses to 1 hit.

Thanks

Are you just playing an announcement or are you collecting a digit(s), waiting on input from the caller? It would be helpful if you could post a screenshot of the VDN/Vector that you are using.

Here is what the vector reads now

Number: 3 Name: INC AUTOATTD
Multimedia? n Attendant Vectoring? n Meet-me Conf? n Lock? n
Basic? n EAS? n G3V4 Enhanced? n ANI/II-Digits? n ASAI Routing? n
Prompting? y LAI? n G3V4 Adv Route? n CINFO? n BSR? n Holidays? y
Variables? n 3.0 Enhanced? n
01 wait-time 4 secs hearing ringback
02 collect 1 digits after announcement 1980
03 route-to number 1100 with cov y if digit = 1
04 route-to number 2133 with cov y if digit = 2
05 route-to number 95555555 with cov n if digit = 3
06 route-to number 2136 with cov y if digit = 0
07 goto step 1 if unconditionally
08 stop

Not sure, but the way I have our Vectors setup is to use the 'goto' command,

e.g. goto step 22 if digits = 1

Mine works fine this way...

Have you logged into the MGP on your G700 to see how many DSP resources you are using when it fails?

We had the same problem and entering a "wait 1 or 2 sec" command in the first vector step seem to resolve the issue.

I have a similar problem except I'm on a g3si v11 with a tn2501 board.
My vector doesn't seem to go to the next step it just plays the announcement for a couple of seconds and then skips back to the beginning of the announcement.
I have rerecorded the message. I have created a new vdn with a new vector. The only thing I have not done is upgrade the firmware of the board.

However, I found that if I play the announcement on step one and then put a collect 1 digit after none step on step two the announcement plays fine.

I have a call in to Avaya, even though I know they are going to tell me to upgrade the firmware of the board first. Once it is resolved I will post again.

By the by, a wait step did not help and prflash already has one in his vector.

What are the announcement settings on the disp ann screen?

If the user enters a digit during the announcement the announcement will end and the digit will get proccessed.

If the user enters more than one digit and you only collect 1 digit then there is another digit in the buffer. You can hear this by entering multiple wrong digits. It will loop through the message that many times.

We corrected this by collecting 6 digits (our extension length) and forcing the user to enter a # after their entry.

I don't know if the extra digits will be there on the next pass through by another caller.

Is is always taking the same path when it breaks out early? Which path?

Try list trace vector 3

To All,

Avaya had to download a patch to correct the problem. Ive had so many issues with this version of of software. All my other sites are doing fine but they are running 4.0'''
