would like to have a Recorded Announcement before call is answered
Hello you have reached __________
This call is being recorded
call is then answered

we do not have ACD

Call is routed by DNIS to the appropriate SECTOR
Announcement Plays
Ringing Call is Answered

Firstly do you have the feature to add announcements on your system, i.e. a VAL board or Media Gateway (G450,G700,G350 etc..)

secondly do you have VDN/Vectoring enabled?

If yes to the above then

1. Create an announcement extension
2. Use the Announcement Access feature code (disp sys feat) to record your announcement
3. Create a VDN extension for each unique DDI/transfer to exten/group - assign vector number xx
On page 3 of the VDN - Variable V1 - enter description (transfer) and the number to transfer to after the announcement in assignment field
4. in vector xx, set the routing to look like:
1 wait-time 2 secs hearing ringback
2 announcement xxxx (the announcement number you created earlier)
3 route to number V1 with cov Y if unconditionally
4 Stop
5. You'll need to re-point your DDI numbers to the VDN extensions

That should do it, if you don't have the features above enabled or are not sure, get in touch I may be able to help

Good luck

Thank You for your Reply.
I will try on Monday.
Thanks for the offer to assist if needed.
I will let you know the results.

Thanks Again!

Added Announcement 3008
Can i change Vector 1 which is not being used?
3008 Announcement Extension

I have an 800 number which routes by DNIS to 6 SECTORS
800 xxx xxxx routes to DNIS 1740 the DID is xxx xxx 1740
800 xxx xxxx routes to DNIS 1760 the DID is xxx xxx 1760
800 xxx xxxx routes to DNIS 1780 the DID is xxx xxx 1780
800 xxx xxxx routes to DNIS 1800 the DID is xxx xxx 1800
800 xxx xxxx routes to DNIS 1820 the DID is xxx xxx 1820
800 xxx xxxx routes to DNIS 1840 the DID is xxx xxx 1840

i would need to create a VDN for each SECTOR
Example 21,22,23,24,25,26
add vector 21?

Confused with Step 3

Thanks

Yes you will need to create 6 x VDN's and match them to your incoming DNIS numbers

You will see the inc-call handling on the trunk that carries your 800 DNIS numbers

cha inc tru x (x = trunk number)

if for example the DNIS points to extensions currently, you will see the digit translations here
e.g
Number >>>>>> Digit Len >>> Del >>> Inserts Digits
800 555 1740 >> 10 >>>>>>>> 7 >>>> 2

This will delete the first 7 digigts of the DNIS and insert a 2, so the extension number in this case will be 2740
your table might look different but you should be able to work out how the DNIS gets to the extenion number
You'll need to change the digit treatment for your Sector numbers to match your new VDN's

so if the ext's are 2740, etc.. make the VDNs something like 3740, etc. and change the DNIS to point to 3xxx

In the VDN variable V1 the transfer assignment should be to 2740 (exten numbner)

I hope this makes sense

cha inc tru x (x = trunk number)
No Results

it is possible the system designer programmed something different?

DNIS 1740 for example points to DID xxx xxx 1740

make the VDN extension 2740 etc.

cannot find where to make the change of DNIS to point to 2740

Thanks for your patience.

Sorry for the delayed response

Can you share a screenshot of the first page of the trunk

It may be that the inbound digit translations are done in the aar digit translation table

List aar dig

Have a look

INCOMING CALL HANDLING TREATMENT
Service/ Number Number Del Insert PerCall Night
Feature Len Digits CPN/BN Service

No Information

Screen Shot did not copy

It doesn't look like the DID translations are in the aar table, unless it's in

lis aar Ana loc x (check locations)

Can you identify the trunk?

List trunk
Then
Disp trunk x

If the DID digits coming in are only 4 digits long
I.e 1740 and matches the ext 1740
Then no entries will be needed in the
Cha Inc trunk x table
Try inputting

Inc number (1740)... Del 1.... Insert 2

So this will delete 1 digit (from the left).. in this case (1) and insert digit digit 2
Resulting in a transfer to 2740

Try calling in and see if it hits the new vdn

If you want to email direct, i might be able to take a look for you remotely
