I was recording some announcements and after listening to one I pressed 3, I recieved a confirmation tone and now none of my announcements are playing. I get a fast busy when I try to dial access any.

Any ideas??

Nevermind, looks as though somehow they've all been deleted. Darn, I don't know why, I only deleted one.

Trying to restore from removable media but keeps giving me Time out waiting for resources; please try later

Have you tried to busyout the board then releasing it? Do a list config all, get the 5 digit port number for your announcement board. Then do a busyout board XXXXX. XXXXX is the five digit port number. Page down on until you get the "Command successfully completed". Then do a release board XXXXX. Page down again until you get "Command successfully completed

tried busyout.. no luck, so I reset the announcement board and I'm now able to start the restore.

anyone else ever delete an announcement and have the whole board delete?

I havent ran into that, but it sounds like one of those I am just lucky like that kinda things. If you mess with a swith long enough, you will have something sooner or later that will bite you. LOL

The things you should look at is if you have a TN750C announcement board that you should have 10 sec over on the board otherwise these problems can happen.
When you look at the Definity FAQ you see how you can handle announcements.

I've just had to move my announcment boards into a different cab. what i did was saved them to tape then moved the board and did a restore to board and it moved the ann with out haveing to re-record. Now when ever i change an ann.I run a tape back-up just in case a lose a board.

Thanks for all the tips. While we're on the topic of announcements (TN750C), I'm still a little fuzzy on this; is the only way to delete an announcement through a telephone set? I have always just removed the announcement to be deleted from the cha ann form and saved it, I now understand this doesn't this really delete it.

How do I find the old extensions that I have removed from the announcement form thinking they were gone?

Is there a way to find out how much recording time is used/left on the board?

“List Integrated” will show you all the announcements that you have on what board and the remaining time left on that board.

Hey - since I seemed to have stumbled into a discussion with a bunch of announcement experts, let me toss this one out. I'm upgrading to CM 2.0/S8700 in a week or so, and was told that the TN750's won't work. No problem - I have a VAL board. But the VAL board only had the 10 minute capacity. As part of the upgrade, Avaya has bumped me up to the full hour. I can see where they dialed in and changed my Customer Options, and when I look at those options, it says "VAL Full 1-hour capacity = Y". But when I display integrated-annc-boards, it shows the old capacity. Is there something I have to do to bump it up? I want to migrate my other announcements over to the VAL board before the upgrade.
