Good Day Tech's

I have an issue with an analog phone. Client complains that the phone doesnot release when he hangs up and must press the RLS to ensure proper operation. I have completed the following;
Changed Phone with a good new one.
Recreated profile
Changed TN's multiple times to other cards.

I'm starting to run in circles on what should ahve been an easy resolution. Any other advise?

Nick

Hello Nick

You mentioned that it's an analogue phone. Can you print off the TN details and what type of phone system it's connected with please?.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

I guess some of the Aastra analog phones do in fact have a RLS key, apologies. What type of phone is this and as was asked previously post a tnb of the set. However, hang up is hang up if the hook switch is working properly. I wonder if by chance you have the handset cord plugged into the headset connector? Worth a look!!

The cords all look good and I repunched the entire circuit.

The only thing that I can think of is that the particular model of analog phone only "hangs up" (technically opens the loop) via the RLS button.

It's a common "problem" with analog phones for people to do a hookswitch flash when they think they are hanging up because that is the way that features like transfer and conference are activated. The RLS key helps to avoid that. It's all in the timing.
If the user doesn't need to use transfer or conference or other feature that uses a flash then you could change the CLS from XFA to XFR. That would disable the transfer and conference feature.
But probably if he was aware of the function then he would be okay with XFA.
