Hi,

In excel or word is there a way to anchor a document (that I use all the time) to the "File" menu item at the top or end of the recent documents list?
Or can I anchor a document to the "documents" item in the start menu?

Thanks,
Rao.

One way in Excel.

1. Click Tools, Customise.
2. Select the Commands tab.
3. Scroll down through Categories list and highlight Macros.
4. From the Commands list drag Custom Menu Item onto the File menu - the File menu will drop down and you can insert Custom Menu Item where you want.
5. Right-click on the inserted Custom Menu Item and select Assign Hyperlink, then Open.
6. Add link that points to your document.
7. Right-click Custom Menu Item again and change its name and icon as required.
8. Clsoe the Cusstomise window.

Word works much the same way.

Hi,

In Word,

There is the Work menu, which holds up to 10 files, an undocumented facility found under Tools Customise Commands Categories Builtin Menus. More details at:

In Excel,

I use a similar Work menu which I obtained from:

but this no longer seems to be available at that site. Maybe someone know where this can be obtained.

Good Luck!
