Hi,

I have DMR metadata modeled in Framework Manager and I'm displaying this using Analysis Studio.

I have one dimension for Status which has a level for category & status. This is being mapped against a measure of 'number of cases'.

When I drill down on the category I want all statusus within the category to appear even if there are no cases for that status.

At the moment, I have just cases for 'Open' and 'Registered' say, and these are the only statuses that are appearing.

Is there a way to get all statuses appearing?

Thanks in advance!

If you base your model on strict inner joins between dimensions and facts, then all 'unused' values for a dimension will not be there in a crosstab.
Did you test in query studio? All dimension values should be available there if you used a simple list..

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a way to model the relationships between the dimensions and measures in the DMR metadata within Framework Manager, or does this have to be done at the database level?

Thanks

DMR uses SQL to fetch the data from the database. So, you need to have a relational model (database layer) to work from.
It may be possible to use DMR on top of a transformation layer (model query subjects) , but then the resulting SQL will be very convoluted as your are building layer on layer.
So yes, use the database objects and joins

Thanks again,

I have found that I can add an outer join to the relationship within framework manager. I did this in the physical model relationship.

This also applies to the DMR metadata too so problem solved.

Just another q - is there a way to replace the null values with a zero ('0')?

At the moment they are all coming up blank when I run the data in analysis studio.

Thanks

If the record that is associated with the null value exists ,then you can use coalesce on the measure in the query definition. Check what coalesce can do for you..
