Is it possible for excel to calculate the number of series which at some point go out of tolerance?

e.g. If a series 1 is the lower tolerance and series 2 is the upper tolerance can I check to see whether series 3 lies within this range or not?

The number of values used for the upper tolerance, lower tolerance and other series are not equal so I cannot compare values this way, nor are the x-axis values the same.

Perhaps you could post an example of your source data that illustrates this condition.

Basically the upper tolerance has a greater number of data points than the lower or actual measured data.

By that I mean that if I am analysing 100 data series I'd like to know how many go outside of the upper tolerance and how many outside of the lower tolerance. So if you drew two curves on a graph, one upper and one lower, most other series should lie within them. If a point doesn't that series will fail the test.

I can't upload the data anywhere so I'm afraid you'll have to make do with my explanations.

You must construct a set of data, where you can PREDICT the outcome and then test your process to see if it yields the predicted results.

That is your task!

BTW, I already gave you a workable solution example, from the meager data you have provided.

I'll try using your solution from earlier then. If it were possible to upload the full set of data I could show you, since I can't I'll continue on my own. Thank you for the help though
 


As I stated earlier, I forced an out-of-tolerance condition on a yAct value and got a TRUE.

Make a similar formula for the upper. The TRUE values will indicate an out-of-tolerance condition.
