We have a fax machine that is constantly engaged. Is there anyway through the definity system that we can stop it from being engaged?

Depends on what you mean by constantly engaged. You can do a 'busy st x' to end activity but if it's a valid call the users generally get peeved by that sort of activity.

I tried that and it said No hardware assigned.

The users are peeved because they cant use the fax machine. It just sounds like it is constantly engaged.

Any other ideas lads? Cheers

If the Emulator tells you "No hardware assigned", that means that the Extension is on a port "x" and thus, there is no analog port programmed nor connected to the extension. The fax is in no way connected to the extension you are trying to dial.
I'd say: put the analog extension on an analog port and patch it. Good luck.

Thanks for the swift replies. We seem to have fixed the problem now anyway.

Thanks again
