A client of mine needs to make an analogue internet connection, the modem will dial and begin handshake, handshake fails and line is dropped.

Don't know what to do, can anyone suggest anything?

Check first IOIFP if Baudrate is set to all.

ericsson dont support baudrate above 28800 on ana analogue extn so try dropping ypur baudrate

kev,

assume, ordinary ana ext, trying to dial out using a modem,

ok basics

1> scexp, make sure there is no clock slip
2> can other people dial out ok via modems
3> have you tried this modem on another ana port

holla back with this infomation and will try and help

Thanks Jay.

1 - No clock slip
2 - Yes
3 - Yes

It seems that the internet connection is made, but connection to our jserver for applet download is the source of the failure. The internet connection stays up, just the jserver connection drops. Other internet stuff works fine.

It's a laptop that's being used and when it's taken off to a another site with an analogue line it works fine. No settings are changed.

hi,
get another laptop, connect it to this port, dial into an isp etc does that fail as well ?

Hi Jay,

Have tried another machine/modem, same thing. The actual connection is working fine, on any modem. The problem is a specific site that uses java to connect to a secure server, it's the secure login that fails.
Works outside on a normal analogue connection but not on site over the digital.

Sorry i didn't mention this lot before, only just found out myself.
