I have just set a 403 (v2.1) with the analog 4 card installed also (PRI has just been ordered so we are just using the anlog trunk for the moment).

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem. They are set to Loop Start only, just so they don't whinge about call setups etc. 3 of the lines are installed, and as I was testing each of the lines, I wanted to make sure they all dialed out correctly so did 1 by 1. Every 2 calls or so, instead of dialing out, it would come back saying Disconnect on a 2030. Press redial a number of times and then it would dial correctly. I even moved the line to another trunk port on the IP Office, just in case calls weren't disconnecting corretly, but again, first time, it would just say "Disconnect". Again, if I redial it a number of times, the call would go through no problem.

Haven't used these trunk cards before, but I know from the past there have been a number of problems with them - am I doing something wrong!!

Cheers for any help.

you have 3 lines installed but 4 circuits available
I suspect your failed calls are trying to use the unconnected line
change the out going line group ID for the trunk that is not in use.

that's a good idea - thanks for that, I'll try it if they report the problem. Surely if one trunk though is busy/not connected, it moves from trunk 1-4 in order and then replies busy if it searches through them all!

Hopefully this problem won't be there for long!

Cheers.

The IPO will only try the next line in the cycle, so if nothing connected, you get disconnected

ah thanks for all your help guys.

So when I get the ISDN installed, how can I get it to always go over the PRI, but in case the case that goes down, it can fallback to the analog lines?

Is that possbile or will I need to give the analog lines a different line group and tell the site admin to change incoming/outgoing calls to that new group if need be? Or will it always go via the ISDN first and fallback to the analog?

Cheers.

i had the same problem use the wizard thatfrom the manger install and then go to the anolog line section and make the port with no line out of service.

set the outgoing line group for the out going lines different to the isdn lines

use the LCR routs to rout all the outbound calls to the isdn you can then use the fallback options to route using the alog if the isdn fails,

again make sure that the unused alog line is disabled.

Does LCR work correctly when PRI lines are involved now? Haven't looked at it in a while.

Peter

everything works correctly here in the uk peter, its just that weird netwotk they have your end that causes issues

ahhh that makes complete sense - I never use LCRs to their full uses.

thanks for all your responses.

Hey Peter its not your fault you are given a Rolls Royce & have to drive it over single lane dirt tracks. :))

Hey I've heard trying to drive on some of the streets in london might as well be on single lane dirt tracks... *grin*

Besides there is absolutely nothing wrong with the PSTN here in north america, Avaya products developed here work just fine with it. It's those self-centered avaya UK engineers who can't seem to understand there is a world outside the UK that are the problem here! ;-)

Whatever happened to the concept of world class routing??
