I have an 81c with succession 3.0 on it. We have been redoing the cabling on the TN side. Going from 66block to wire wrap. I have been using the mov command in LD 25 to move whole analog cards. The digitals I move one at a time and no ACD sets are being moved. It has been working fine until we tried to program the old analog slots as digital slots. The digitals program ok and stat as idle, but do not work. If I prog. it as an analog again it works fine. I did do an INI and still have the same problem. I can't get digital cards to work when they used to be analog. Has anyone experienced this before?

The digital sets are polarity sensitive, that is probably your problem. Flip the cross connect and see if that fixes your problem.

Digital sets are polarity sensitive.

Assume you're using digital sets with the digital line cards? :)
(Just the comment about reverting to analogue working again... what exactly are you changing when you revert back to make it work?)

KCFLHTK: We have tried to reverse polarity and still doesn't work.

cmasjohn: Are you serious about the digital line cord? I am outing the digital and programing the tn as analog OR digital, and putting the appropriate card in the slot.

Thanks for the help

Take a different type of jack to the station with you. I have a site with a certain type of jack that works for analog but not digital. Try a biscuit.

Punch it down at the main frame and see if it works there right out of the switch. At least that will point you in the right direction.

sometimes after moving you also need to OUT the card itself then rebuild it as didgital.

cmassjohn: Sorry about the are you serious comment earlier I read your post as cord not card. Yes I am using digital line cards.

To clarify a little more. I moved a bunch of analog cards to empty slot on the same shelf. Then after the cables had been terminated to the new blocks we went back and started moving the digital cards to where the analog cards used to be. Now I cant get the digital phones to work on the digital cards in the old analog slots.

We have tried rolling the pair, didn't work.
We are hooking up a test phone right to the frame and have tried different phones.
It shouldn't be the cable from the PBX to the frame because the analogs worked fine on them.

Anyone else want to take a stab at it?

What happens when you plug in the phone? A flash or anything or is it completely dead? Are there any other digital phones in this superloop that work. If not it could be a TDS issue. The TDS is what gives the digital phones dial tone. What kind of digital phones are you using, 2000 or 39xx series? Also provide a print out of a phone if you can. Also make sure card type is XDLC.

When the phone is plugged in it blinks once then goes dead. There are other digital and analog phones on the same loop, and they work. I am using 2616 set's.

Yes I have disabled and enabled ports with same result. I have IDC the card it is an NT8D02ea.

Did you check the punch of the switch tail? Maybe it is already reversed. The phone blinking once tells me it will work if the wiring is correct and the port is enabled. You may have to call tech support.

I'm going to go back to the basics on this one. Your phone is programmed on TN 20 0 12 1, that should be the white/orange pair of the 25 pr. Is that where you have it punched down? If it is have you tried another digital line card? The single flash means the polarity is straight. It almost sounds like you are plugging it into a TN that is not programmed. If you have checked all this you may want to disable the loop and controller and then enable.

I guess its worth DISabling your Net/SuperLoop and Controller cards and reseat, which will in effect force download

LD 32
.DISL x / ENLL x SuperLoops
.DSXP x / ENXP x Controllers

Cheers!!

What confuses me about this is the fact that I had analog lines working on the same TN's prior to me moving them to another card using LD 25. Then putting a digital card in the same slot, and it's not just one slot it's about 5 that I have moved and can't get the digitals to work on. I have tried rolling the pairs, trying a different phone, and trying another known working digital card. I can even put the analog card back and it works fine.

Could this be from me using the MOV command in LD 25?

Thanks KCFLHTK and SL1M1 I will try that. I hope that will work and it's not a corrupted database.

Yeah it sure could. I never use load 25 and every tech I know will tell you not to. Maybe someone here has had success using it but I have seen it cause nothing but trouble. Trouble just like you are describing. I would call tech support.

I wonder if the PBX thinks there is still an analog card in there? You can use the LD 10 command OUT, then at TYPE put in CARDSLT. Then do a NEW CARDMLT in LD 11. You can probably do all these commands in LD 20 also.

I still Suspect wire - Do you still have switch tails to 66blocks? can you put one on and test. Or just connect a new tail and wire on a biscut jack.

ALso what is part number on UEM (shelf). The older shelves did not have a one to one ratio 25pr cable to cards.

Also - would not be 1st time I have seen a factory made 25pr amp connector wired backwards. Opent he hood and check colors.
