Hi all,

I have IP 406 version 3.2. I have 2 analog ports and 1 of them is page port. Everything seems work fine until today when all the sudden both of ports are dead. I could not get any tone on the analog ports or paging ports. I tried to reboot couple times but nothing changed. I look at the monitor and haven't seen anything out of ordinary. anyone have any ideas how to restore those 2 analog ports? I am willing to pay a fee if anyone know it. Please contact me at cuongd0@yahoo.com

Thanks

have you tried to power cycle the box? also are your DS ports working OK?
Could just be a box gone bad, contact your vendor for a replacement unit

everything else working OK. Only the analog ports are not. I did try to power cycle couple times.

i would try a different phone. if you are not getting any dial tone from the analog phone you are using, it wouldn't hurt to try a different one.

I have had the same issue happen to me twice. I just replaced them, but I should have tried to AT-X them. I was just being lazy.

I have had the same thing happen to two different customers that we have supported on the IP Office platform. Once one of the ports was DOA and we ordered a replacement box from Avaya (the 406v2 now carries a 3 year warranty if you work with the original business partner that you purchased the 406 from). The other time this happened, the customer had some power issues over the weekend so it was our assumption that the power blew out some ports on the system. Try testing an analog phone on a port that you know works (at home if you have to), then test it in the IP Office If you can't get an analog phone to work but you know it works somewhere else, your ports are probably shot. Good luck.

I've seen this happen when a customer plugged a computer in to them.

I've also had a customer blow up a DS unit the same way.

Has someone been 'playing' with the patch leads?

Have you earthed the unit?

Can you get 'blow' on the ports?

Either way - it's probably time for a new box.

Wow, plugged a computer into the port, they must have been desperate for switch ports!?

I've come across Phone units where the DTMF receivers have gone, if you can dial out using PM that's probably what's happened, and you would need to swap the unit.
