Analog phones will not ring

I am experiencing several Analog ports/extensions that will not ring when someone is calling. The dial tone is still there and when you pick up the phone, you are connected to the party. I've tested everything... ringer on.... per button ring... but nothing seems to work.
 
Do you have another phone you can plug in to that line for testing purposes?

Is this happening on a single analog line or throughout your facility?
 
I've tried switching the phones. This is not happening on all of the Analog stations just a few.
 
Try looking at your alarms to see if you have a power failure on the port cabinet that your extensions in question are connected to. We had this happen on a SI cabinet when the "ring generator" IN the power supply went bad. This did not affect any of the digital phones... only the analogs on only that port cabinet. Let me know if that fixes your problem.
 
If you use a Slave adapter, where you should use a Master, everything will work except the phone will not ring. Analogue POTS phones need masters. Digital phones need Slaves.

Check page 3 of the station form and make sure "Distinctive Audible Alert" (ie: ringing) is yes on the stations that are not ringing. It happens!
 
IF they are not Avaya phones, try putting a Avaya phone. Is there more than one phone connected to one port?
