OK here's the skinny, our CP voicemail system went down, with no support from vendor I needed a solution very quickly and created an analog DN and hooked up an el-cheapo answering machine.

I changed the hunt DN on the main number (x5960) to go to the newly created analog DN. The answering machine answers on two rings when calling from another DN but refuses to answer when calling from the outside. It's almost like route refuses to let go of the call when it's coming from the outside.

How can I get that el-cheapo to answer when calling from the outside?

Thanks,
Perplexed.....

The FAX...It is a DDI DN Yes ? and try FAXA in the CLS...These are the obvious, but Let us know

Cheers!!

Thank you both for the quick response.

The FAX...It is a DDI DN Yes

I don't know for sure can you tell me how to check to make sure it's a DDI?

Changing CLS = FAXA did not work. I changed that on the analog DN or the I2004 DN?

I will have her try forwarding the I2004 to the extension of the analog number and test it again.
Will let you know.

Thanks again.

Do you use different ringing patterns on the analog phone for internal versus external calls? If you do, your el-cheapo answering machine may not be recognizing the external ringing as a valid call.
