After finally getting the ok to switch from analog DID trunks to a PRI T-1 I find I have a few questions that my vendor doesn't have answers for. We currently have a 911 t-1 to give out ani/ali info I asume and I am wondering once we cut to the PRI can I get rid of the 911 t-1? Our main switch is a Definity v9. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your 911 T1 is more than likely just a CO trunk group in your PBX (consisting of multiple analog central office lines).

Generally - you would keep that...

Thanks,

Depends. If you getting a local PRI then it should be able to provide 911 services. A LD PRI will not. Check with the provider and see if they can do X11. If not, get a POTS line to do that for you.

The local provider said they could add inform 911 and it should give the ani/ali. I guess the old 911 t-1 is cama trunks and is a PRI t-1 as well, so I guess I can convert that t-1 and use it for inbound and outbound calls as well. Thanks for the info.
