Need some help with new Analog DID trunks, when the call is received from the PSTN, I am only receiving the first digit then the switch is sending reorder, like it is not waiting long enough for all digits. I can see that during an enhanced trace. Here are my trunk and route blocks.

REQ:

Can you get on the TIP and RING of the trunk at the Demark and make a call in

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS AND AVAYA

I did put my butt set on it and called a DID with another set, the trunk goes active, I can hear all DTMF tones, however after the first digit I can also hear the PBX sending out the reorder.

Do you have something set in the LDN_DATA? You have to have a 4 digit # set there otherwise it will reject the call

It would need to look something like this. Notice the 6000 under LDN0?

Yes, we actually have 5 digit extensions and my LDN is 5 digits long. I have not used analog DID trunks in about 10 years, who uses those anymore!!

So the 5 digits you are trying to pulse in are the same as your 5 digit Ext #'s?

Also make the NCOS 0 on the trunk, why is it 7?

yes example is 715-561-3215 is extension 13215, the NCOS is set to 7 for trunk to trunk connections and LD service

yes no problem with internal, on network, or outgoing calling, just these analog DIDs, is there a timer someplace that I am missing that would listen longer to the incoming DTMF tones? When I do an enhanced trace on the trunk I can see the dialed digits only contains the 7, I was going to put just a 7 as a DN on a phone but there are over 200 CDP entries that start with 7.

Just to appease me make that NCOS 0 and try it. Because it looks like everything else is right. Also pull off the jumper connecting the CO and just put your butt set on the TN, come off hook, an put in the digits. Keep in mind copper DID trunks are polarity sensitive also.

You should hear the battery reversal on the TN on your butt set for the wink start. Should go click then click

I changed the NCOS to 0, did not help. I also did a trace to show you I am just receiving the 7. I am not at site but will stop there on my way in and give the butt set a try

My guess is then the CO is not sending you the last 5 digits, it looks like they are sending you all 10 hence the 7

Yes that is correct, they send all 10, and with the LDN set to 5 digits the PBX only looks at the last 5

I think you are wrong about that. But do the butt set test and only pulse in the last 5 digits, I bet it works then. I think what you are referring to is only applicable to T-1 or PRI.

I agree with KCFLHRC. With analog DIDs the CO is sending digits individually in order. So your switch is translating them in the order they arrive. It's different with a PRI.
You will have to put in an IDC table and associate with the DID route so that it converts 715561 to 1. Then the remaining digits would be translated to complete the DN.

Wow, been working on Nortel for 20 years and never seen this before, like I said who uses analog DIDs anymore right. Big gold star to KCFLHRD and StanleySteamer!! You guys rock, tested with the butt set and the call went through, built the IDC tables and boom, all is well. Thanks again.
