AMS not working

Hi all,

It looks like AMS isn’t sending emails when there is a threat found on my client machines. Everything appears to be configured properly, all my machines are under my parent server and AMS is configured to send emails upon "Virus Found". It worked once when one of my machines got infected but thats it. When I expand my SSC console it shows machines flagged with "Threat Found!" but no email. What can I check to ensure AMS is configured properly?

Searching the Symantec knowledge base for AMS and email pulls up a lot of documents! This one has a lot of things to check:

AMS test alerts function correctly, but genuine alerts are not sent

There was also one about making sure that your mail filter doesn't filter out mail with no TO: or FROM: field information, since apparently AMS doesn't always populate those.
