Has anybody encountered this error before? We have a UNIX machine running MQSeries 5.1 CSD06 putting messages via remote queue definition to an NT cluster running MQSeries 5.2 CSD04. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently facing this problem reported on my MQSeries Server 5.1 in /var/mqm/errors/AMQ<Some number>.0.FDC.

If anyone has a resolution to this problem and an explanation to the possible cause will be greatly appreciated.

Explamnation is that someone does telnet to Your qmanager.

Try to telnet form another host to UNIX machine (on listener port) and write "whatever whatever" In eeror log you will see:

AMQ****: The data received from host 'hp (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.)' is not valid.

EXPLANATION:
Incorrect data format received from host 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' over TCP/IP. It
may be that an unknown host is attempting to send data. An FFST file has been
generated containing the invalid data received.
ACTION:
Tell the systems administrator.

What more, there will bi *.FDC file with:

| Probe Description :- AMQ****: The data received from host |'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' is not valid. |
| Comment1 :- xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx |
| |
| Comment2 :- TCP/IP

at the end of this file under "Dump of Transmission Segment" you will see:
4000e5b0 77686174 65766572 whatever
4000e5c0 0D0A whatever
