Hello All,
I need your assistance in determining the termination of COT lines in the 25-pair Amphenol cable to connect Phone set.

In my option 11C mini, I have always configured and connected phone sets as follows;

TN = 4 0 0 0 corresponds to Amphenol pair of white/blue
TN = 4 0 0 1 corresponds to Amphenol pair of white/orange
TN = 4 0 0 2 corresponds to Amphenol pair of white/green
TN = 4 0 0 3 corresponds to Amphenol pair of white/brown
TN = 4 0 0 4 corresponds to Amphenol pair of white/slate
etc..

Recently, I configured some COT lines, but the TNs do match the Amphenol pairs as narrated above but as follows;

TN = 2 0 0 0 corresponds to Amphenol pair white/blue
TN = 2 0 0 1 corresponds to Amphenol pair white/green
TN = 2 0 0 2 corresponds to Amphenol pair white/slate
TN = 2 0 0 3 corresponds to Amphenol pair red/orange
etc...

Please some should tell me why the TNs/Amphenol pairing for Digital/Analog Line Cards IS NOT the same as the TNs/Amphenol pairing for COT (Trunk TNs.

Did I do something wrong or is that how it is?

What is the correct TNs/Amphenol pairing for COT or Trunk lines.

regards,

The reason there not the same is because the Trunk card supports different types of trunks, the pair in between is for special applications

Thanks PERRYPJ for the response. Is there a particular order of cable pairing for COT trunk?

One of the COT line config is as below,

CUST 0
XTRK XUT
TIMP 600
BIMP 3COM
TRK ANLG

Each trunk port is 2 pairs starting with the W/BL and W/O pairs. This would be unit 0 and it just continues on. The reason for the 2nd pair is if you have a RAN announcer then it needs the control leads on the W/O pair to start and stop the RAN announcer. A standard trunk only utilizes the 1st pair of each TN. In your example for Unit 6 then you would utilize the BLK/GRN pair. The BLK/BRN pair would be the control leads for that port.

Many thanks KCFLHRC.
This is well informative and has cleared my confusion.
I now know the reason for what I observed with COT TNs and the 25-pair amphenol.

thanks...
