Months after re embarking on reinstalling wp2k2 suite I am still unable to access or create an address book or a calendar. I have been able (don't ask me how) to get to the address book long enough to open the wp8 address book and create wp9 bogus examples, which would do it, if WP10 would accept them for merge. It won't.

Attempts to create the cc10 address book create a folder but elicit the usual cclogin error on the actual file attempts. No file is offered to open.

Attempts to open a calendar offer about six files, which do not exist on my disk: Carumba, c1, adds.db. I can't find the files in which they are contained in a search (Next step registry).
Attempts to create give cclogin.

Attempts to merge with wp8 or 9 address book or a paradox file elicit, as I said, an insufficent memory error.

Here questions:
1) Any new insights aside from uninstalling for the xth time? (No info in knowledge base. Don't get me started)

2) What files might I be missing from the installation disk?

3) What, actually, would the extension of the actual files be? This is not indicated in any of the processes, and it might help.

4) Does wp10 usually come with an empty default address book?

5) Any comments on BDE? I upgraded it without much help. In the past I have received messages to use the bdeadmin. Fat chance that.

See next post for further questions. Thank you profusely for any real help at all aside from statements that wp10 is a really neat program, which for me right now, it is not.

Corel Address book is a real pain. We need the address book for wp10. But if you want that it automatically upgrades your IE to version 6. In our case we need the address book but not the IE upgrade. I spoke with Corel tech support. I followed the WP article 206714. Which turns off the IE upgrade. But in doing that I lose the Corel Address book. Corel recommendation was to use the Corel 9 address book which works with 10. Corel will not be not be using the Corel Address book in future versions. They will use Outlooks address book. That why they have the hooks into IE6.

Now this sounds interesting. Up until now I have been avoiding using Outlook for all things.
I can't merge with 9, as I get a memory error. (Insights into this one apppreciated). Some problem with the MAPI 8. I can see simplifying things with Outlook, though.

Please explain "IE Hooks".

Sorry, but another qustion: Any suggestion on how this would effect the calendar or date book?

Are you using WP10 install kit? Or are you installing straight from the CD. If your using a CD make sure you have all of the latest service packs. Service Pack 3 is the lastest. There are also a couple of hotfixes. Its better to get the CD right from Corel with the Service Pack already applied. I had serval strange issues using the downloaded service pack.

Because IE is intergrated with Outlook. If you install the corel address book you will be upgraded to IE6. This is in preparation for Corel using Outlook as the address book, calendar etc... I did not get many details from Corel, just a outline of why they did it.

I wasn't upgraded to IE6. I wonder if the oem disk somehow simply did not install the address book.

I have installed the service packs and hot fixes without success.

Attempts to merge with 9 or 8 (Mapi) result in an "insufficient memory" error report. Odd.

Any idea if there is a way to extract the address book only from the cd?
