Hi there,

I'm looking for a relatively good but cheap cpu cooler for my amd 6000 dual core. So far i've found the ZALMAN CNPS 9500, looks great but at £30 it's on the pricey side as i'm a cheap skate.

Anyone got any suggestions for any others?

I own the exact same processor, the stock heatsink/fan does a fine job in its own right. Most aftermarket coolers are going to be in the same price range as the 9500, you can't get any cheaper than the stock AMD cooler! It's also quiet.

This cooler seems to be gaining in popularity:

...but is still quite pricey, as is my personal favorite, ThermalTake's V1:

I agree with wahnula, the original supplied AMD cooler is fine for the AMD6000 but if you bought the CPU OEM (without cooler) then this Coolermaster Hyper TX2 is at least as good as the default cooler that AMD supplies and more than adequate at stock CPU speeds. GOOD PRICE TOO!

If you intend overclocking on air then you will need to look at wahnula's other options with greater cooling ability.
