Always backs up at 4928KB on any sized file your trying to backup

we are using V10 and I have gone into the setup wizard even to check that nothing is wrong and I still have this same problem.

I am backing up a file that is 20meg as a test. Everytime I run the job however it always runs fine and finishes the job at 4928KB which is obviously not right. No matter what files and larger sizes I swap and change as a test it still doesnt work and still comes up as 4928KB back up.

anyone had a similar if not same problem?

Do you have compression enabled? Have you tried restoring to a different location and comparing the backed up file and the restored file?

compression is enabled yes and yes i have done the latter as well. still the same

I think Scheeman meant compression on the volume your backing up or resorting to? Are you ising SIS Single Instance store on the volume?

What if you run a backup to disk ? Run a backup with NTBACKUP to disk what results do you get?

Well more searching and the backup now works...kind of!!!~

Backing up anything from the C drive works fine..

Backing up anything from a different drive just no matter how big the file it still does the same size of 4928kb....does this help with anything??
