Alternative to OWA ?

Hi All,

After a couple of implementations using OWA on IIS 4.0 with Exchange ver 5.5, we discovered that there are tons of patches and security risks with OWA and IIS 4.0 to keep up. In addition, OWA is slow and is pretty unreliable if it is used extensively as web mail.
We would like to know whether is there any third party web mail application (front end) which can integrate with Exchange 5.5 (back end) which support basic web mail service including calendaring and contact ?

HAve you investigated VPN? Its supposed to allow access to your network as if you were a node.
