I've been asked to convert some Impromptu reports to ReportNet. The vast majority of these reports have a Cognos script that goes with it. The ReportNet installation is on a Sun v440 with a Solaris operating system.

I'm almost certain that you can write Cognos scripts in Solaris. Is there an alternate to the Cognos scripts besides shell scripts?

Thanks,

Sorry, I meant to say can't write Cognos scripts on Solaris. So what would be an alternative?

I have been working on converting Impromptu reports to ReportNet for the last few weeks. What i have found is there is no great way to accomplish this task for very detailed Impromptu reports. We have had a consultant from cognos here and still we have virtually rewrite all the reports. If there is a better way i would like to hear about it.

We've also been working on converting impromptu reports to CRN and found the process laborious. Although there are a few tools to help, complex reports still require manual modifications.

Advancements in CRN should be considered regarding migration from impromptu. There are better ways to accomplish certain requirements that were restrictive in impromptu.
