Alternative for ImgEdit?

Hi,
Does anybody know anything about components for editing images? I am looking for an alternative for the ImgEdit component that’s included in Windows.

Just mention a name or point me in the right direction.

Assuming you mean one that can be added into your project. There are alot of them, but most cannot display or edit TIF files effectively, or have no scanning abilities - Unless you want to pay for it! So I guess that is the question. And what functions should it have.

What is wrong with the ImgEdt.Oca?

It's no problem with the functionality of ImgEdit but you don't have any control over the installation if you want to distribute your application.

You can't create a setup that installs everything you need. The user himself must install the Imaging for Windows software package from the Windows CD if it's not installed.

Including the .OCXs on your Setup disk or copying the .DLLs to your user's system will not work. Instead, you must tell users to install the whole kit."

Do you have any other suggestions?

I believe there isn't a free license to distribute it. You can only reference it. The license may be with the OS. Which means that they must install it.

So, again, what functionality? You probably will not find a control that offers the same and has no license fee .
