Alternate VPN client for Symantec 200R?

I've been working with a client's 200R appliance and haven't had too many troubles (after we got it working, having shifted out the old 200's). The only qualm I have with the thing is the software that Symantec includes for client connections. It won't allow any software firewall to coexist on whatever computer you install it on. In order to provide rapid response in the event of an emergency, I'd really like to be able to VPN into their network from my laptop... However, I'd rather not do that at the expense of my own personal security, as I have Zone Alarm. Is there another cleint program I could use to connect to the VPN, instead of the included Symantec software?

On a side note, I managed to get one of the old 200's, and my be getting the second shortly. They seem extremely similar to the 200R's, anyone know what the difference is?

From what I heard the old 200 do not permit VPN connections.

Also from what I read there are no other client that seems to work with the 200R !

What's your setup for the vpn client to work, i've been trying for days, I cannot connect, I get an error !!!

The VPN client took a little while for me to get it to work... After a while, I finally figured out all the settings that needed set and so on, what with Diffie-Hellman values, etc, not to mention computer configurations, etc. As of yet, I haven't had a chance to connect via client to the 200, but I intend on trying (I've seen it done).
What's your setup that you can't get the client to work? Are you using a 200 or a 200R?

Thanks for your post, have been out for few days...

Setup is 200R !

Tried different setup, from XP,2000 Sp4, NT4 Sp6a ...
My setup on the 200R is very simple as written in the user manual.
On the client I tried so many settings that I do not know what to invent anymore...


I will do a last try with 2000 sp2, I read somewhere that post SP2 can make problems...

Will keep updating the post if any success...
