Hai,

I know the formula for alternate coloring of group footer is "if remainder(groupnumber,2) <> 0 then color else Nocolor" and this has to be used in the section expert --> color --> formula.

but this color is printed out of my report border(covers the whole page from left to right).

How do I choose the size and width of alternate coloring?

Thanks for your time,
Raj

You can use an empty text object that spans the width/height of your footer, and use the same logic of its Back Color condition.

Dave,

I did a back ground for the text object but the rows are not visible. I added the formula in the background formula without checking the box but it hides the rows alternatively with the asked color.

Thanks a lot,
Raj.

Try right clicking on the text object > Move > To Back.

i need the coloring to start from my report border

Thanks,
Raj

Does page border mean that you're actually printing and it's the width of the paper, or???

dave,

You solution works!!! First I had to use the formula in the background of the text and do a move -> to back.

Thank you very much.

synapsevampire,

Thanks for your time and effort.

Thanks,
Raj
