Hey Everyone

Another item we are looking at is the replacement for SmartMedia, AlphaStor. I know it's new but is there anyone using it and what is your thoughts about it. The good, the bad and the ugly views..

We are looking to implement with this and want to know what I'm getting into

Thanks
Stephen

We are using alphastor here currently, Personally I think it is a great product, easy to use, easy to set up and maintain. Works good for media management and such. However it does have some caveats. In a SAN environment it can only have one active path to the drives, therefore you cannot do load distribution. And If you add a storage node you have to rerun robot_config ( robot configuration script) Delete the robot and devices in networker and rerun jbconfig to recreate your virtual devices. All in all it is a good product

Hey InternetGuy

Thanks for the info..
