I have AlohaPOS systems in 6 different venues and I can't seem to figure out this BOGO issue; your help is appreciated.

I want to run a Promo that allows guest a BOGO on specific items, all in a the same Category (Non-Sales). Seems easy enough but I can't seem to get it to do the BOGO on each specific item only.

Ex: There is a Bottle Beer Category with 5 different beers (Bud, Miller, Coors, Heineken, Sam Adams) If you buy a Bud and a Miller, they are still priced as usual BUT when you buy the 2nd Miller, the Millers get combined as the BOGO. So although they are all eligible, the BOGO only applies to the specific Item numbers, and not ALL the items in the Cat so the process would be:

This seems like a logical Happy Hour offering but I can't make it work. Appreciate any help you might be able to offer :)

If you want your BOGO to only apply to those specific items, did you create a specific non sales category for those items specifically?

Can you explain what your bogo promo is to get a better idea as to what you are trying to accomplish.

Yes, I did create a specific category.

Explanation: As above, I have 5 bottled beer products that I wish to promo with a BOGO. If you buy a Bud, all is normal until you order the 2nd Bud which gets 'matched' with the 1st and zero priced as the BOGO. Problem is that if I order any of the 5 beers as a second item it will 'match' them up and BOGO it. I want it to 'match' and BOGO items by their ID number; not just because they are in the same Cat.

A step further...I create a cat and want to BOGO all alcoholic items (beer, spirits, wine) for Happy Hour. But any item in that Cat will be BOGO'd as the 2nd item ordered. So if a 2-top orders a draft beer and gin & tonic, the lowest cost item will be BOGO'd.

Does this make better sense :) BTW...thanks for your reply

So in theory, if i order a bud one time, it's normal price, 2nd order gets the second bud free. But what you don't want is if someone orders a bud the first time, and a corona the second time, the promo should not fire. Question is will the promo fire if it's two coronas?

It almost sounds like you need to create individual categories for each drink bogo, for instance corona bogos, bud bogos, etc.

There may be a section in the settings of the BOGO which allows you to set the restrictions or the criteria for the BOGO.
