One of our stores wants to add another Aloha station that will push the number of connections over the limit of 10 for the XP installation on their server.

(XP2 limited the number of inbound connections to 10)

Is there a hack or work around for this? Could someone link it or clarify if it works? I did find some stuff online about removing TCP inbound connections, but I am not sure if it's what I need.

I don't want to spend $1000 or more on a "server" OS just to add one station.

Thanks!

Use RFS, or is the site too old and behind on upgrades to use this functionality? There's a way to jury-rig this, but nothing beats doing it the right way.

if you do not have aloha 6.xx and above then you wont have rfs available to you. only way around that with 5.x sites is having the alohaboh fileserver running windows 2k or 2k server. The master has to be 98 on the floor. then the rest of the terminals can be xp.

That's jury-rigging. Yes it works, but you are using EOL operating systems and a non compliant version of POS -if you are going to accept credit cards.

Not worth the liability to support.
