Hello,
I am having some issues with this upgrade. I will try to give the short version og what I have done.

Upgraded with 6.4 disk and all went well. Changed key numbers and was able to log in to Manager. Then noticed that none of the BOH users had access in EDC. (all pulldowns grey) I made sure the BOH users had the correct start menu/Security Level. Then checked in security levels and saw no one had access to EDC and some other functions, but I was unable to modify any security levels that I did not already have.

Soo, I decided to bring him back to 4.2 then upgrade again. Now at this point, I can log in but I do not get the Utilities pull down, nor do I have access to any of the Maintenance funcions. I have seen this in 5.0 - 5.2 before, and thought it had something to do with dbconfig. So I poked around in there with no results.

If anyone could help or share some ideas I would REALLY appreciate it.

In 6.4 the super-user login has been disabled, so you will have to make sure the BOH levels have access to all functions BEFORE you upgrade.

I did do that. Now after all of my messing around, none of the users have access to anything. As I said before, any BOH user i login with has NO ACCESS at all, (all i can do is login and log out of manger) they did have access before I went back to 4.2 and then tried to upgrade again.

Ok, well.. I decided to upgrade to 5.3.12 from 4.2 first and try to iron out the access settings, THEN go to 6.4..
I will post my outcome.
Thanks

Bingo... My above post did the trick.
Wow, I never realized how much I took alt-x for granted. I guess its for the greater good.

On a side note. The 6.4 upgrade did not come with a disk 2. (i assume thats where the upgrade/install for back office programs is) So I am running 5.3's Gift Cards (DB version 1.12) with 6.4.19. I hope the doesn't screw things up, seems to be fine so far. I will be bringing back the fileserver tomorrow.. Wish me luck.

Thanks...

Looks like i saved myself and the customer a couple hundred bux by dodging a help desk call. :D
