Hello everyone.

I am looking to expand my restaurants POS system.
We currently use one terminal with printers.

I would like to add another and possibly two handheld devices. I've read on the forum about the Partnertech UK handhled tablet (em-200). I am not a fan of the handheld devices as they are cumbersome and with the technology today I'm sure there are far better (and cheaper options).
Has anyone any feedback on the partnertech, (ruggedness more than anything else, and the brightness of the screen).
Are there any other good alternatives?

As I am also after a new terminal, has anyone any recommendations? this will be used outdoors, and it gets very sunny btw.

We've used standard tablet PCs for this in the past which aren't ideal. Any time we've spoken to our reseller regarding handhelds, they've been pushing Orderman ( Radiant bought them out a couple of years ago.

I remember the kit looked good but it wasn't cheap.

Yes my Aloha reseller has also pushed forward the orderman.

Yes but has any one used the tablets with dire consequences?

They weren't dire but they were limited. We couldn't force MSR or Biometric use on the terminals for the employees that would be assigned to a tablet as it didn't have the hardware to support it. Other than that it worked OK.

For us, running a full tablet that we could install Aloha on was a preferred solution rather than running terminal services to a back office PC.

But if it is only used for order taking then i guess you could just use an employee number.

Im considering the partnertech em-200.

Does anyone know where i can find the logutils application?

I've never seen it available for download, I think you'll need to get it from your reseller. IIRC, it requires a new licence/hasp for it to run.

Am I entitled to ask my reseller for it? I have a feeling they are not allowed to pass it out, would my current Aloha licence not suffice?

we have some of the new partnertech terminals, but I'm not a big fan of those yet. Orderman is great, if you do not use it in a team get check environment.

I have 2 used orderman handhelds, 2 leather cases, 1- base station and 1 belt buetooth printer for sale of interested.

cheers,
Coorsman
