Hey guys, I have a quick question, last night at my restaurant, my aloha system crashed, and I tried to put it into redundancy, and due to the trans.log file getting corrupted. They had to start me a new trans log and then after I closed merge both of them together. And after being on the phone with them for 2 hours they got my system running out of redundancy, but now i dont have my labor report and sales report or any data once end of day processed. And They said they were going to have a high level tech support call due to the fact that I need to complete payroll today, and no one has yet to call all day. What do I do...

I will try calling them again and hound them until you get some support. That would be ridiculous that they didn't finish helping you. But that has been my experience as well.

its very easy to both fix your corrupt log, then merge with new log. Once that is done, regrind the dated folder.

here are the steps. remember to save copies of all trans.log files. renaming is best

to fix curupt log, hoping you know where they put it and we will assume its called trans.old
in the dated folder in question lets assume 20150627 find current trans.log and rename to trans2.log
rename old log back to trans.log
from a command prompt get your self to the dated folder
cdcd bootdrv
cd aloha
cd 20150627
run from the dated folder
c:\bootdrv\aloha\BIN\GRIND.EXE /FIXLOG TRANS.LOG
go back to windows screen, look in dated folder for trans.log and rename to trans.old again
find fixed.log and rename to trans1.log
now go back to dos
run in teh same dated folder
copy /b trans1.log+trans2.log trans.log
lastly from the run command assuming aloha is on c drive
c:\bootdrv\aloha\bin\grind.exe /date 20150627

if all worked you should have a fixed trans.log of the entire days sales. If you got lost along the way, reach out to me from link below
