Aloha setup problem

Hello,

Im trying to help someone out with a problem they are having. They recently had to replace a server for a 1 terminal system using aloha 4.2. He had some problems getting the terminal and the server to see each other at first but was finally able to get them to work together. He was trying to do a term install but now receives the error message that "the local term is not specified". We checked over the iber config, checked over the environmental variables but is still getting the message. Any idea what might cause this? I appreciate any info you can give. Thank you.

Sorry for not being so clear with some more info. He told me that he checked the iber config and it has:

term=1
termstr=term

I asked if these were present in the environmental variables and they were not. Is it necessary for them to be in the environmental variables if they are in the iber config? The terminals that I work with all have them in the environmental variables as well as the iber config. Could this be the problem or something else? Thanks again for your quick response.

If you go to a DOS prompt - type in SET - this will display the current environment varaibles. They won't get set unless you run the bach files before you run the iber.exe program.

In older versions of Aloha I've seen the envoironment varaibles in config.sys - autoexec.bat files and inercfg.bat. Make sure the last one that is run has the correct varaibles.
