Good morning,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with setting up a button to automate a process in Aloha. I want to have a button set that would reroute one printer group to another. I already have an even set up that does this butt I want to be able to do this with the use of a button as well when necessary. I am trying to simplify the process for the management at the units. I did not see a way to use an event in a script. I am using Aloha 6.5.16. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Why not use "Reroute Printer Group" already in the [Functions][System]?

Are you trying to do this as a one time instance (for 1 given order) or for an entire shift or day?

Are you using table service or quickservice?

With table service. You can customize the order mode buttons in the top right. Create Prt1 and a Prt2 order modes, then the servers can use those to send their orders to one or the other for custom routing.

I am using quick service. We have enabled chit printing in our units to get a ticket with bigger font than the normal customer receipts. To do this as you know I had to create and use printer groups. These units have the capability of having 2 production sides open at a time but we normally only use one because business does not call for a second side to be open. Occasionally for events such as football games or for some units that have busy lunches, they will need to open their second side. Every day at end of day I have an event set up that automatically routes one printer group to another because they are only using one side. For occasions where we want to use that second side i want them to be able to have a button to hit that will reroute a certain printer group to another the same way that it does in the event in the morning. These occasions are not necessarily predictable like the end of day process is so I cannot just set another event. I know its only a few more steps to have them change the printer group routing but I am just trying to eliminate any user error as some of these units are hours away from me and it would be easier to know that I have automated the rerouting a little bit. If its not possible I understand, I was just wondering if it was. Thank you.
