Aloha 5.3.15

When viewing an Edit Punches Report (not editing the punches themselves), we get an error message that says "Rpt.exe has generated an error and must be closed". A windows error message.

Possibly related is when they go to edit deposits, about 4 old deposits show up in the box from god knows when.

I haven't tried an re-install of Aloha yet-figured I would see if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks!

It may be the version 5.3.15. When I was on that version I'd get rpt.exe errors on a couple of reports, I can't remember which. Dealer told me it was a bug in the version and I needed to upgrade. Went to 5.3.29 and it fixed it.

Try this for krap and giggles
Do an audit report. Select only 1 name from the employee list, hit O.K. Does your report crash? Mine always did. Then try again and select all employees. Did it work this time?

This error I know I always had on 5.3.15 that 5.3.29 fixed.

Thanks RB. I do have .28, so hopefully that will be enough.

Someone also suggested deleting the *.cdx and *.tdx and reindexing. Dunno if that will help, but I will try both.

Eh eh eh... Yes it is a bug in Aloha, but you could have a corrupted trans.log, you could have too many dated subs in the Aloha drive, or in your newdata and data folder look for a file called DPST.txt. If you have that, it is your duplicating deposit.
There are other fixes, before just thinking it is a version error. BUT if you run an upgrade, be prepared for setting changes, security value changes, etc.
Good luck,
Brad
