Hi all,

Have you install Aloha Remote Manager in a pc with several Store connections using Relational Database? I want to do some shortcuts to connect to different store from one pc. The installation in the Stores is with SQL2000 and Aloha TS 6.5.26.

Thanks.

Why are you trying to connect to multiple stores from one PC? Are you trying to look at them for database management reasons or for reporting? Anywho have you considered Secure Access from NCR or Insight for reporting?

Neither of both options. The client don't want to go to web hosted report or configuration. Because all the store are in the same network they want to connect remotely using Aloha Manager to do operations like create users, change price items, view reports. Basicly they want this options to do all from one admin pc.

As I understand your situation.
You have 1 building with multiple Alohaboh computers. All are on the same network, and from 1 machine you would like to be able to access all the computers from location.

Here are some options.
1. Install Teamviewer and setup lan connections to except exclusively. You can then bring up each machine by either IP or computer name. Easist way.
2. If they are all running aloha manager old version you can install aloha on your local machine, but then change the desktop short cuts to look like this for the target. Much more difficult
\\alohaboh\bootdrv\Aloha\BIN\AlohaMgr.exe /iberdir \\alohaboh\bootdrv\aloha /remote
replace alohaboh for what ever the names of the servers you have are.
3. Enable remote desktop on BOH and create remote desktop user.
4. Less secure, VNC or TightVNC

Those are some free options here are others

Paid options
Gotomypc and logmein, or other remote apps. Google remote desktop is very easy to setup

Thanks AlohaRoss.

I only want to use Aloha Manager Remote. The other options like remote desktop and vnc are active at site but the client don't want to the users logging threw remote desktop or vnc.

The step #2 is that I'm use but the version of Relational Database not the Non Relational Database. I know this literature. I don´t know if you are use this connection with Relational Database. In Relational Database is required an ODBC connection to point to the server of Alohaboh that I want to use. For example, I have 4 store, Store 1, Store 2, Store 3 and Store 4. From one pc using Aloha Manager Remote, I had to use the ODBC connection to point the store 1 or Store 2,etc.

For this, I imagine there are 4 shortcuts that allow me to change the connection in ODBC and point to the Store I want to connect.
