Hello I am a server and we use aloha POS systems. I wanted to know if there is a way to record our tip outs to the FOH. For example on any given shift I am required to tip out 2% of my food sales to the food runner and 5% of my alcohol sales to the bartender. When I go to claim my tips at the end of the shift there is no where on the screen to claim my actual tip outs. I claim exactly what I take home but my GM always "adjusts" our claimed tips to match our CC Tip outs not what we actually take home. So essentially we, the servers, are paying taxes on the full amount of our CC tips even though we provide the money to the FOH as well. I think this would cause a problem with the food runners since they are paid below minimum wage because they are tipped employees. This also becomes an issue if any of us pool because the person whose number is used to ring in the sales ends up paying all the taxes because our GM manipulates our claimed tips back to our CC Tips.
My question is, can you set up an accurate record of tip out in aloha? I see an area on my checkout that states tip out but is always left blank. My thinking is there must be a function that is currently disabled?
