My Aloha recipt printer on terminal 4 gives error massage not comunicating and will not print. I tested the printer and hooked it up to another terminal and it works. I am using windows 98. all recipt printers on back of the house are set up the same way to port LTP1, I checked. What other settings should I check?

This just started to happen? Check BIOS settings to be sure LPT port is enabled.

Hi Have an older HP Pavilion. I hold the Del key while turning on the computer but it does not do into setup and starts windows 98. Is there any other way to get to setup page? Is there something else I can check?

I got set up to work. I have parallel pot set up as LPT1 378 IRQ7. I have a choice to change it to Auto. Should I try? I also have a choice in parallel port mode it is set as EPP I can change it to ECP.

I tried every posible setting, no change. the red error light on printer (Epson TM88) blinks tree times and solid for a few seconds and repeats between blink and soild. Could it be power supply? but the red light and green power light is working. The printer does not self test conected to this terminal and tests okay on others. Is it posible that I am missing an Aloha software on the this terminal?

Try power supply. Did you say it does not self test on this terminal but it does on others? Check cutter blade.

yes it does not self test on this terminal but will self test when conected to other terminals. Works perfectly on other terminals but I used the power suplly that was already at each terminaland printer cable. The cutter worked at the other terminal. What am I checking forin the cuter? Could it be the cable that connets the printer to computer? I will test a different cable and let you know.

I changed power suplly and it started working. Thank you for your help. I guess power suplly can go out and the light can stay on.
